Product Description

This product is TMP (Trimethoprim Phenypropanol Disulfonic acid Sodium ).Calculated according to C32H34N4O15S4Na4, the content shall not less than 98.0%.

  [Characters] The product is White or yellowish-white powder,no smell and bitter tasting,soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol.

  [Identification]

  (1)  Add this product about 20mg into 2mL of dilute sulfuric acid,after dissolved,add 2 drops of iodine TS in this solution,there should be Brown precipitate.

  (2)    Add this product about 20mg into 5mL of ethanol,after dissolved,add 0.4% sodium hydroxide solution into it to crank out another solution which contains 20ug per mL. Then tested by UV visible spectrophotometric method,the maximum absorption peak is at 291nm.

  [Check]

  [Alkalinity]  Add this product 1g into 20mL of water , shake to dissolved,the pH should be between 8.0-10.0.

  [Clarity]     Add this product 0.5g into 25mL of purified water,the solution should be clarified.

  [Loss of drying] Dry this product at 105℃,the loss should be less than 8.0%.

[Determination of Content]

  Add this product 0.2g into 20mL of glacial acetic acid,after dissolved,add 1 drop of Crystal violet indicator into the solution, drip the perchloric acid titrating solution(0.1mol/L) into the solution until it turns blue,then correct the result by blank test.1 mL of perchloric acid titrating solution(0.1mol/L) is equal to 93.48mg of C32H34N4O15S4Na4 .
