Description:

Clitoria ternatea, commonly known as Asian pigeonwings, bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, cordofan pea and Darwin pea, is a plant species belonging to the Fabaceae family. It is a typical tropical vine that blooms throughout the year. Clitoria ternatea distributed to Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Taiwan, Fujian, Hainan, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Guangxi, and Guangdong, etc. In Southeast Asia, Clitoria ternatea flower is used as a natural food coloring, Taiwanese also began to use it in cooking meals. In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, it is ascribed various qualities including memory enhancing, nootropic, antistress, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, tranquilizing, and sedative properties.
